Every day in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin roughly 600,000 people are at risk of going hungry due to missing a meal. To that end, Second Harvest Heartland, one of the nation’s largest and most effective food banks, distributes enough food for 74 million meals annually.
On Friday, May 1, 2015, team members from MSpace and iSpace spent the afternoon at Second Harvest Heartland pitching in to help make a difference in our community. Our task: to turn roughly five tons of bulk potatoes into easily-distributable five pound bags. After a thorough and informative orientation session by the able Second Harvest Heartland staff, our team got to work picking, inspecting, weighing, bagging and stacking over 9,000 pounds of potatoes! Not only did we did we do good work, we had a blast and got to know each other a little better.
If you and your co-workers or friends have never volunteered with Second Harvest Heartland, we highly encourage you to do so! Have a look at our day…
About the iMpact Team from MSpace and iSpace Furniture
The iMpact Team’s mission is simple: to develop a culture within the iSpace and MSpace family that nurtures strong internal relationships for best business practices. We achieve this mission through Community Involvement, Team-Building Events, and Employee Recognition. Different iMpact Team members take the lead for different initiatives and pull us all together to get projects and events off the ground.
Previous community projects include building more than 1,000 sandwiches for the 363 Days Food Program and collecting pillows for Bridging.
